Week 1: Project Briefing
This week, we were given a briefing on what Minor Project would entail. As I discovered, we get to choose from a variety of different projects to complete for the remainder of the semester. Some were collaborative with the business school, while others were with studios outside of the school. I chose the Sang Guardians because they piqued my interest the most.
Week 2: Contextual Studies
We began our contextual research, and I was assigned to look into the merchandise that can be related to our target audience which was 7-10 years old.

We learned about empathy maps and how they can help us reach our project goal. Personas were created, which are identities that represented the project's target audience. In a meeting with the studio with which we worked, R&D Studios, they gave us a list of side characters to design. We planned to use these side characters to create the necessary user personas.
This week, we'll be working on our Google Form survey to gather general opinions from the target audience about animated series/cartoons, as well as to gain insight into the direction of designing authentic and relatable side characters for Sang Guardians. We also solicit responses from respondents regarding possible locations in school that remind them of the possibility of paranormal activity. After the questions are finalized, the form will be distributed to the public via various social platforms to solicit feedback.
After the feedback from Mr mike, we found out that the visual wasn't enough and it look quite boring and wordy. So we need change it because is made for kids.

Week 10: Master Moodboard
Logo/merchandise Feedback
Logo mark (wax seal stamp, what does it represent? In the animation itself. Calling sign when the characters use their magic/ancient sign)
He was talking about how the logo mark can input into the animation itself like maybe it's an ancient mark that makes the girl have powers or smth like that
Character/Environment feedback
He’s ok with the girls' character design (?) Does just the guy look adult-ish
The proportion of anatomy? Younger teenage anatomy (children's style?)
1 character fully colored, put into a dummy environment that is close to what u want to test out. (to match with the environment) just do and test out (line quality / sketchy/thick line strokes? Colors? Shaded / not shaded (character and environment must match/compliment each other)
Characters:
Shoe lining, color too soft for the popular girl 2, make her belong to the others.
Character names??
Coach makes it look more mature. facial? puberty?
Goth girls can possibly go more extra
Environment:
Classroom - use perspective lines to guide you, shading makes a pastel/crayon feel / sketchy feel.
Make the workflow consistent. (one person outline / one person color)?
Logo:
Put the logo mark into the main character's eyes/put effects to propose to R&D.
Agree as a group on the logo mark.
“Guardians” typeface: “S” is a bit hard to read, cut off the middle to form the ‘s’ shape.
After the feedback, I received from Mr. Mike I started to develop a few more logos.
Reflection:
To be honest, working on a minor project has been a bizarre experience. It did not go as well as I had hoped at the start of the semester. I wish we had communicated with them more or played a larger role in product design. Nonetheless, we had a lot to learn from it, particularly about how to work with people. The design thinking process could be tedious at times. Despite the fact that I recognized its significance in our research and making our work actually useful to people. Minor Project has taught me a valuable lesson in collaboration. Whether it was internal group communication or communication with the R&D studio. Overall, the minor project has been a valuable learning experience. I've learned valuable lessons in communication and collaboration and am excited to put my newfound knowledge and skills to use.
