Final Project:

Week 10

Ms.Lilian and Mr. Vinod brief us about what we gonna do in this Final Project.

We need to create a simple brand guideline. Take note that a brand guideline is different from a corporate identity system (or this) the latter is more complex and tends to be used for large
multinational corporations, whereas a brand guideline is a concise and bespoke guideline for smaller and younger companies or brands. Content: Logo, Colour Typography, Visuals, Applications

For the first week of the Final Project, I learn the navigation bar with Mr. Vinod and Mr. Vinod also do some demos to let us have a clear mind.

Week 11

In week 11, we don't have class due to the public holiday, therefore, I done some research about how actually a perfect guideline should look like.

Week 12

In this week I also didn't attend the class because I was sick. However, I did try some attempts in few pages.

Before I started all processes, I need to decide on the grid system of my brand guideline, below is my grid system.

Figure1.4 First page

For the first design attempts, I was not very satisfied. Ms. Lilian say that on my first page I should put my brand logo to let people know about what my brand was.

After that Mr.Vinod notice that, the button on the left and right should be more convenient, as a designer we also need to consider the customer's experience.

I also choose some images from the internet to use in the design of other pages.

Week 13

After Ms.Lilian give me the feedback, overall the content was clean and some of the pages were nice. However, I still need to change some of the layouts, point size, and leading of the text to make it nicer.

Week 14

Final Outcome:

Feedbacks:

Week 10:
General feedback- The user experience must be considered. The user experience will suffer if the buttons for the previous and next pages are so far away. Since the logo is more significant than the phrase "brand guidelines," it should be prominent on the first page.

Specific feedback- Put the navigation bar outside the margin space.

Week 11:
General feedback- Public Holiday
Specific feedback- Public Holiday

Week 12
General feedback- Absent
Specific feedback- Absent

Week 13
General feedback-
Better finish the interactive pdf
Specific feedback- Play around with the layout, point size, and leading

Reflection:

Experience-
The thing that really struggled with me was the layout I did I'm still feeling like miss out on something, and the interactive was quite confusing to me at the end. I really want to give out sometimes but in the end, I'm still telling myself to be stronger. I also appreciate the feedback given by Ms.Lilian and Mr.Vinod. If I had a chance to do it again I will be more concentrated on the interactive Pdf.

Observation-
In the end, the Layout, Grid system was the key point of how your design gonna look. Sometimes having some white space is ok for a design because it lets the design have a breathing space and contrast it. In addition, having a good image can really help your design become more quality and impactful.

Findings-
Throughout this whole journey, it was quite struggling for me because It was the first face-to-face class I had ever done. I still haven't gotten used to the rhythm of the class at the end, but I believe that it will all change the next semester and I am already excited to move on.

Figure4.1 12 great examples of brand guideline

When it comes to building a memorable brand, consistency is everything. Just look at the world’s most recognizable companies and how fast you recognize them. A glimpse of the swoosh and you know it’s Nike. The golden arches represent McDonald’s. Same goes for Apple’s half-munched apple. These companies are practically glued inside your brain, and strong brand guidelines are part of the glue that makes them stick. But brand guidelines go far beyond a logo or icon. It’s in their colors, imagery, fonts, tone, and even the feeling you get when you see one of their ads. In this article, we’re going to look closer at what brand guidelines are, 12 examples from companies that nailed it, and some tips for how to create brand guidelines of your own.

Figure4.2 guide to creating a brand guidelines

Brand guidelines sometimes referred to as brand identity guidelines, are a document that you can use to help identify, build, and grow your brand. When your company works on a new branding project or goes through the rebranding process, you should be given your shiny new brand guidelines on completion of the project. Your new brand guidelines document can then be used both internally and externally to ensure consistency and continuity with your brand’s visual identity and underpinning strategy. However, there is often more to it than that..
