Project 2: Decisive Moment
 

In this new project, we were assigned to create a minimalist poster that we can choose either from a movie or games, ideally, one involving movement and action. 

Research:

Since we can choose a movie as the theme, I decided to pick my favorite mafia movie's God Father as a reference.

With a idea going on, i try to find some minimalist poster as a reference too.

Rough sketch:
For the first idea that I came out was, I try to make a goblet that full filled with red wine.

For the second idea was a suit that has a black and white version.

The third idea was i try to make a contrast between a cigar and knife.

After I received Mr. Kannan's feedbacks I decided to combine the second and third ideas together. I do some research to find a suitable portrait.

After I traced the portrait I started to combine the elements in the second and third ideas, such as the blood, cigar, and suit for the portrait. Futhermore i also add on some rose petals to let the visual elements looks more unity, if I didn't add on those rose petals it looks lack of visual elements.

With the second attempt I simply add on some elements that Mr. Kannan suggest to me.

After final adjustments, I export the artboards in illustrator and animated the final animation works in photoshop.

 Reflection:
I really enjoy playing with this task, even I struggle with my editing skill at the start but I try a lot of ways to create a nice design. The God Father always one of my favorite movie all the time, I really appreciated have this project to let me salute to this legendary movie.
