Lectures: Repetition and Movement

  • Repetition- repetition creates a particular style and cohesiveness, creates emphasis, hierarchy structure, and strengthens a design.
  • Movement- used to create an action look in a design and guide the viewer's eyes throughout the artworks.
  • Hierarchy- the important elements of design that make the viewer follow the flow of the artwork.
  • Alignment- Is the placement of elements so they line up in a composition.

Exercise

 Repetition:

For the first repetition I try to use shapes to easily bring out the meaning of the sketch, and the second I use illustrator to sketch out since haven't got my materials.

Reflection: these elements of design principles can easily use in any way of your work since you understand clearly what message that actually you wanted to pass to the viewer.
